After years of trailers, screenshots, rumors, and leaks, Rockstar Games has finally shown a much clearer look at Grand Theft Auto VI. The new GTA 6 Extended Look runs for around 26 minutes and focuses heavily on Jason, Lucia, Vice City, and the kind of gameplay players can actually expect when the game launches.
Unlike the previous trailers, this presentation feels much closer to real gameplay. We get to see Jason and Lucia moving around the world, driving, shooting, escaping police, hanging out together, and exploring different parts of Leonida. The biggest difference is that everything feels slower and more natural, instead of jumping from one cinematic shot to another every few seconds.
Jason and Lucia Feel More Important Than Ever
Rockstar clearly wants Jason and Lucia to be the heart of GTA 6. The Extended Look shows them spending time together outside missions, talking at home, going out, and working together during criminal jobs.
Character switching is also back. One sequence shows Lucia parachuting before the camera quickly moves across the city and switches over to Jason. It looks smoother than GTA V and seems like Rockstar will use switching more often during missions too.
That could make some missions feel much more dynamic, especially if Jason and Lucia are doing different things at the same time.
Vice City Looks Seriously Alive

The thing that stood out most to me was how busy Vice City looks.
NPCs aren’t just walking around randomly. People are working out, partying, relaxing on the beach, using phones, swimming, talking, and doing their own thing in the background.
Even simple areas look packed with movement.
That’s important because GTA has always been fun when the world feels alive even when you’re doing absolutely nothing productive. You might be heading toward a mission and suddenly waste twenty minutes watching something stupid happen on the street.
GTA 6 looks like it’s going to have plenty of those moments.
There’s a Lot More to Do

Rockstar also showed a bunch of side activities, including basketball, diving, racing, boating, parachuting, nightlife, and different activities around Jason and Lucia’s home.
None of these features sound massive on their own, but together they make the world feel less like a giant map built only for missions.
And that’s probably exactly what GTA 6 needs.
The best GTA memories usually aren’t from following objectives perfectly. They’re from getting distracted, stealing the wrong car, starting a police chase, and completely forgetting what you were supposed to be doing.
Six Wanted Stars Are Back

One small detail got longtime fans pretty excited: the six-star wanted level is back.
GTA V only went up to five stars, but GTA 6 appears to return to the classic six-star system.
The police chase footage also looks more chaotic. Cars take heavier damage, helicopters join the chase, and Jason can shoot from moving vehicles while Lucia drives.
It already looks like reaching the maximum wanted level is going to be a terrible idea.
Which obviously means everyone is going to try it immediately.
Combat Looks Heavier

Gunfights also seem more deliberate than GTA V.
Jason can use cover, move around rooms, roll during combat, and interact with the environment while fighting enemies. Rockstar didn’t explain every mechanic, but the shooting looks heavier and more grounded.
The weapon system also appears more detailed, and some of the gameplay feels closer to Rockstar’s work in Red Dead Redemption 2.
Just much faster and with significantly more police cars exploding.
GTA 6 Still Feels Like GTA

The good thing about this Extended Look is that Rockstar doesn’t seem obsessed with turning GTA into something completely different.
You still steal cars, rob places, shoot enemies, escape police, mess around with friends, and get distracted by random activities.
The difference is that everything around those basic ideas looks much deeper.
Vice City is busier. NPCs seem more believable. Jason and Lucia feel more connected to the world. Character switching is smoother, and the environments are much more detailed.
Rockstar isn’t replacing the GTA formula.
They’re just making it much bigger.
November Is Getting Close

GTA 6 is currently scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
After watching the Extended Look, the game finally feels less like some mythical project we’ve been hearing about for years and more like something we’re actually about to play.
There are still plenty of questions left, but one thing is obvious now.
Rockstar isn’t just building another GTA game.
They’re trying to make Vice City feel like a place players will waste hundreds of hours in.
And judging by what they’ve shown so far, that probably won’t be very difficult. after cybeerleek did
